Strong Hallesche plan for employees with a single room, private doctor and reimbursement above the maximum rates of the fee schedule, plus a guaranteed bonus of €100 per month that is paid out directly if you make no claims.

Why this plan is in our selection
The Hallesche NK.select XL Bonus is in our selection for employees because it combines a high benefit level with an unusual refund model. Instead of a classic annual payout, Hallesche credits €100 each month as a guaranteed bonus and pays it out directly. If you claim benefits during the year, the accumulated bonus is offset against the reimbursement. The plan therefore mainly rewards people who submit little, and in years with many claims it works like a buffer rather than a real extra benefit. The plan is especially strong for families, which shows in family friendliness of 9 out of 10 points: through the KindernachversicherungKindernachversicherungAdding a newborn to a parent's private policy without health questions. The application must reach the insurer within two months of birth.More about Kindernachversicherung →, one child is covered free of premium until the end of the first year of life. For the benefit level we see broad coverage at 8 out of 10 points, from a single room and private doctor to reimbursement above the maximum rates of the fee schedule, and we rate claims handling at 8 out of 10 points. For premium stability we deliberately stay in the middle range at 6 out of 10 points, because Hallesche has not shown a consistently calm history in the past.
01
Bonus as a monthly credit
The guaranteed bonus of €100 per insured month is paid out monthly instead of once a year. If you claim benefits, the entire annual bonus is offset against the reimbursement. Preventive care, vaccinations, prophylaxis and professional teeth cleaning do not affect this. The requirement is paying the premium by direct debit.
02
One child free of premium until the first birthday
Through the Kindernachversicherung, a newborn is covered free of premium until the end of the first year of life if the child is insured in the plan NK.select XL 1200 and the contract is not canceled before the third year of life. The requirement is that the parent has been insured in the plan for at least eight months before the birth.
03
Reimbursement above the maximum rates
For outpatient, inpatient and dental care the plan also reimburses fees above the maximum rates of the GOÄ and GOZ. That is exactly where many specialists bill, and in a serious case this line decides your own share. On top of that come a single room and private doctor treatment in hospital.

What you should know
!
The bonus is not a pure gift. In years with claims, the entire annual bonus is offset against the reimbursement, so the advantage mainly applies if you make no claims.
!
We rate premium stability at only 6 out of 10 points. Hallesche's history in this plan segment has not been consistently calm, and you should factor in future adjustments.
!
The dental benefit limits cap dental benefits in the first four years at €1,500 to €6,000, with a documented dental bonus booklet the limit no longer applies from the fourth year. If you plan larger dentures soon, you should take this into account. A dental findings report does not lift the limit.
!
The plan has neither an option right for higher-level cover nor a simplified right to change plan. The statutory right to switch under § 204 VVG still applies.
!
A strong plan only pays off if your application is accepted cleanly. If you have pre-existing conditions, we recommend an anonymous risk enquiry before you apply.
Who this plan suits
The plan suits employees above the JAEGJAEG · JahresarbeitsentgeltgrenzeThe annual income threshold in Germany. Employees who earn more than this per year may leave statutory health insurance and switch to private health insurance.More about JAEG → who want a high benefit level and expect few bills, because then the monthly bonus pays off. For families it is one of the stronger options in our selection, from covering a child free of premium to fertility treatment.
It is less suitable if you regularly expect treatment and bills, because the offsetting then wipes out the bonus. If you put maximum premium stability first, you should also check the alternatives from our comparison.
Premium development at Hallesche: A plan is only as good as its calculation. We show the adjustments of past years transparently by year and plan.
Hallesche credits you €100 per insured month as a guaranteed bonus and pays it out monthly. If you claim benefits during the year, the entire accumulated annual bonus is offset against your reimbursement. Preventive care, vaccinations, prophylaxis and professional teeth cleaning are excluded from this. The requirement is paying the premium by direct debit.
Does my employer contribute to this plan?
⌄
Yes. As a privately insured employee you receive the employer contribution of half your premium, up to the statutory maximum. The contribution applies no matter which plan you choose.
Can I adjust the plan later?
⌄
Within Hallesche you can switch to similar plans using the right to change plan under § 204 VVG, and you keep your ageing reserves. However, this plan has no simplified right to switch to higher-level plans and no option right, so the benefit level should fit from the start.
What happens if premiums rise?
⌄
Premium adjustments are part of how private health insurance works. What matters is their long-term size. You can find Hallesche's specific adjustments by year and plan in our overview of premium adjustments. If an increase is large, we check plan optimization with you.
How is our rating calculated?

The five key figures come from our ongoing plan analysis. They are based on the plan terms, the published premium histories and our experience with claims handling from advisory practice. The rating is our professional assessment, not a ranking by a testing institute.

Switching to private health insurance is probably not advisable for you.
From the age of 55, admission to private health insurance is often possible only with restrictions. A late switch can also mean higher premiums.
It matters to us that a switch pays off for you in the long run. That is why we do not recommend a consultation when your answers already show that the conditions are rather unfavorable.
