Why this plan is in our selection
The DKV PremiumMed PMN0 is in our selection for employees because its benefit level is right at the top. We rate benefit coverage with the full score of 10 out of 10, and for us it is one of the strongest plans on the market. Unlike many premium plans, the PMN0 does not cap remedies at a percentage of the federal allowance regulation for civil servants, but reimburses physiotherapy and other remedies at 100 percent. The PMN0 is a single plan for outpatient, inpatient and dental care and comes in the version without a deductible, which is exactly what the zero at the end of the code stands for. We rate DKV's reimbursement practice at 9 out of 10 points for claims handling. The price, on the other hand, needs an honest assessment. With a rating of 3 out of 10 for premium level, the starting premium is at the upper end of the market. According to the plan terms, special conditions apply to certain occupational groups, and we clarify this case by case. If you choose this plan, you consciously decide for benefits instead of a low premium, and it is exactly in these cases that we recommend it in our advice.
01
Benefits in the top group
The PMN0 reimburses doctors' fees also above the maximum rates of the fee schedule, for outpatient, inpatient and dental care. For inpatient care, private doctor treatment in a single room applies. In a serious case, exactly these lines decide the actual reimbursement, and that is why we rate benefit coverage at 10 out of 10 points.
02
Remedies without a Beihilfe cap
Many plans limit remedies to a percentage of the federal allowance regulation for civil servants. The PMN0 does without this cap and reimburses physiotherapy, massages, occupational therapy, speech therapy and other remedies at 100 percent, including osteopathy as well as birth preparation and postnatal recovery.
03
No deductible and no dental benefit limits
The code PMN0 stands for the version without a deductible, so you pay no annual share of your own when you make a claim. Dental benefits are covered from the first day without dental benefit limits, so there is no staged cap in the first years of insurance.

What you should know
!
The premium is at the upper end of the market (3 out of 10 points for premium level). If price is your main criterion, you will find plans with a leaner range of benefits at a lower cost.
!
Dentures and implants are reimbursed at 90 percent, the full 100 percent only applies here after an accident.
!
The PMN0 has no simplified right to switch to higher-level plans. The statutory right to change plan under § 204 VVG of course still applies.
!
Krankentagegeld must be added separately and belongs in every calculation for employees.
!
A strong plan only pays off if your application is accepted cleanly. If you have pre-existing conditions, we recommend an anonymous risk enquiry before you apply.
Who this plan suits
The PMN0 suits employees above the JAEGJAEG · JahresarbeitsentgeltgrenzeThe annual income threshold in Germany. Employees who earn more than this per year may leave statutory health insurance and switch to private health insurance.More about JAEG → who put benefits before price and see their health insurance as a long-term decision. It is also one of the stronger options in our selection for families, from insuring a child alone from birth to a companion in hospital.
It is less suitable if the monthly premium is the deciding criterion or if you only want basic cover at the level of statutory health insurance. For these cases we show you better alternatives from our comparison in our advice.
Premium development at DKV: A plan is only as good as its calculation. We show the adjustments of past years transparently by year and plan.
The PremiumMed PMN0 is the plan version without a deductible. You pay no annual share of your own when you make a claim. If you deliberately want to take on a deductible to lower the premium, we check the right version from the PremiumMed range with you.
Does my employer contribute to this plan?
⌄
Yes. As a privately insured employee you receive the employer contribution of half your premium, up to the statutory maximum. The contribution applies no matter which plan you choose.
Can I adjust the plan later?
⌄
Yes. Within DKV you can switch to similar plans using the right to change plan under § 204 VVG, and you keep your ageing reserves in full. However, the PMN0 has no simplified right to switch to higher-level plans, so the benefit level should fit from the start.
What happens if premiums rise?
⌄
Premium adjustments are part of how private health insurance works. What matters is their long-term size. You can find DKV's specific adjustments by year and plan in our overview of premium adjustments. If an increase is large, we check plan optimization with you.
How is our rating calculated?

The five key figures come from our ongoing plan analysis. They are based on the plan terms, the published premium histories and our experience with claims handling from advisory practice. The rating is our professional assessment, not a ranking by a testing institute.

Switching to private health insurance is probably not advisable for you.
From the age of 55, admission to private health insurance is often possible only with restrictions. A late switch can also mean higher premiums.
It matters to us that a switch pays off for you in the long run. That is why we do not recommend a consultation when your answers already show that the conditions are rather unfavorable.
